I suppose, but computing is also full of ideas that keep being reinvented,
then the reinventors rediscover why they're bad ideas.

There's been no shortage of e-postage proposals in the past. Anyone who
was serious about it would, I hope, start with at least a cursory search
of the on-line literature to understand what the previous ones involved,
and why none of them ever went anywhere.
