[I think I finally figure out which address I'm subscribed to on this
list so hopefully this message will get through. PS to listmom: can
you approve all my old held for moderation messages? -BAW]
Great idea, Chuq. Getting list owners to post it will reduce the
perceived spamness of the message, so I think that's critical.

I'd also like to know if people tend to read their mail in one place
or multiple places. I think that makes a big difference in the way
they access their email (spool vs. POP/IMAP) and perhaps even their
choice of clients.

digests vs. regular delivery, but also remember that users probably
prefer different message packaging for different lists.

You probably don't need to know exactly which lists they're on, but
some more anonymous metrics like: number of lists you're on, do they
tend towards the technical or the social/recreational, etc.
