Yeah, but I think that OE was the first of the mail clients to have its 
default behavior be to have its reply machinery dump you at the top of a 
message with 'ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS' below [followed by the 
*entirety*, headers, footers, .sigs, etc] of the replied-to message], 
really discouraging you from doing anything else OTHER than a jeopardy-
style reply.
