This is partly why I hacked up my running copy of Majordomo to require
a few approved messages before allowing unrestricted posting
privileges.

Any new subscriber who tries to post gets their messages bounced to the
list-owner until a list-owner-configurable number of messages has been
approved - usually 2 or 3. It prevents this kind of problem, as well
as other obnoxious newbie problems.

I really think newbie filters are a good idea, and hope that other
MLMs implement them. I'm pretty sure a few MLMs do, but I'm not sure
which ones.
