# Brent - I also tried to set up a list that was '10.4-testers' (for a version
# of an operating system) and it didn't appear to show the list as a valid
# list when I asked for a 'list of available lists'. Is there something with
# the '.' that majordomo can't deal with in a list name ?
Yes. Majordomo views valid list names as those made up only of upper
and lower case letters (but it converts everything to lower case internally),
digits, "-", and "_". The "." is throwing it off.
If you want to modify Majordomo to recognize "." as a valid character
in a list name, you'll need to modify the "valid_list" subroutine in
the majordomo.pl file, and you'll need to figure out some other way for
the "lists" command to tell the difference between a list and an
attribute file (like a .password or .info file); right now, it just
looks for a "." in the filename to tell the difference.
