That's not majordomo, that's just the way sendmail works.  I administer
the xpert list, which has  over 350 direct deliveries (129 of those are redistribution
lists, imagine the fan-out...but I digress.) Sometimes when I unsubscribe I keep
getting mail for hours afterwords.  It's not because I'm still on the list, its 
because I've got mail still in the queue from before I removed myself from the
list.

I don't think there's very much (practical) that you can do about it except wait.  
(or make the list smaller)
