With the pointers from people who responded to my previous appeal
(thanks again John) I have peeled back another layer of the onion. So
my current layer is from 'mail -v majordom' on the primary mail
server.

Another person suggested that I needed -odq set on my sendmail
invocation, but that doesn't seem to have helped.
So, any more pointers for a poor, confused minordomo?
