Subject: Gotcha with arcive subdirectory permissions

I just realized (because something wasn't working, and I was tracking
down why not) that, if you're using the built-in "get" stuff in
Majordomo, and you're archive directories have subdirectories, the
subdirectories need to be writable to Majordomo, because of locking.

This is a real pain in the ass if the subdirectories are really
symlinks off to directories elsewhere (for instance, in your
anonymous FTP area), where the permissions need to be a particular
way due to other security considerations.

With all the complications its causing, I'm certainly beginning to
regret ever letting myself get pressured into adding "get" to
Majordomo, and not sticking with my original position that such stuff
was beyond the scope of Majordomo and should be handled by something
like "FTPMail".

If you need file access by email, and what you're doing is anything but
trivial, then I strongly recommend using something like FTPMail instead
of trying to make Majordomo do it.
