The "From " line is not a message header.  It is part of the envelope.
Some mail transport/storage systems don't even use them.  The addresses
that are part of the message and assumed to be valid are the ones that
are *in* the message headers -- the lines with ":" in them.  If your
mailer doesn't put a "From:" header in messages, it's broken.  Majordomo
is doing an exactly correct thing.
