i seem to have a bug in resend 1.92. if the first line of a message
contains something that looks like a header (i haven't tested this
exhaustively, but this definitely happens if the first line begins
with "From:"), resend will delete the blank line that's supposed
to separate the headers from the message. this puts that stray
From: into the message headers, giving the message two different
From: headers. And it seems elm reads only the last one, and so
claims the message is from the wrong person.
for some reason, the separator line does not get deleted if the
first line of the message starts with a space, or a lower-case
letter. and even more bizarrely, if the first line is blank, and
the second line begins with From:, resend deletes the separator
anyway--but since there was a blank at the start of the message,
the headers don't get confused.
am i making sense? has this bug been described before?
the config file for the list is:
administrivia = no
message_headers << EOF
X-Mailing-List: PSI Corps / Epsilon Underground
EOF
precedence = bulk
reply_to = psi
resend_host = callisto.pas.rochester.edu
sender = psi-owner
i suppose i can work around the problem by including a blank line
in the custom headers, since those seem to be written last, but
i thought i should report it first.
