This is a self-defeating attitude, and I've seen it really hamper
development.  I've also seen people become heros because they adopted
the "it's not perfect but it works pretty well" attitude and solved,
albeit imperfectly, major problems.

You are right that you won't be able to solve this problem perfectly.
You are wrong if you are implying that we shouldn't try to solve the
problem.  As new mailers come up, you just add to the intelligence of
the program.
