Your mailer (sendmail/smail/pp) may be broken and can't handle
comments in mail addresses read in from the file. This is why the
strip option was added. You might try putting a , at the end of each
address line and see if that changes the actions of the mail transport
agent, but I doubt that it will. If it does, change the code that
deals with addresses to add a comment when it does a subscribe.
