I'm a list owner and I'm having a major problem trying to change the config
file. I'd like to add some headers and $LIST in the subject line.
First I do a config list password to get the config file mailed to me.
Then I edit the config file to add the stuff I want.
Then I send mail with newconfig list password to get the new config installed.
that's not what's happening.
When I do the last step, I get back the message
unknown key |12952| in file list.new.config at line 1
*******
I need to explain something here.
When I get my config file mailed to me from majordomo, it gets sent like this.
--
>>>>config list password
#and here's the complete config file
******
The reason why I wanted to show you the above is that the -- comes down in
the mail from majordomo. So does the >>>>
First, I sent it back with
--
newconfig list password
#here's the rest of the new config file
I get back a message from majordomo saying
--
>>>>--
END OF COMMANDS
and nothing has changed in the config file.
So I figured that it didn't know what the -- meant, and figured it meant
nothing.
So I took out the --, and thats when I get the unknown key |12952| in file
list.new.config at line 1.
We looked at config.parse.p, and since that appeared to just be a parser, we
just edited the current config file, but that didn't seem to have any effect
at all.
We also looked at the writeconfig command, but the way I understand that,
that will create a standard configuration with majordomo defaults, and
therefore will not have any of the enhancements that I want.
So I'm totally stuck. Otherwise the list is working fine.
If anyone can give me any advice I'd sure appreciate it.
