resend leaving lots of files in /tmp

On my system, everything seems to work, except the resend script leaves a lot
of resend.$$.in and resend.$$.out files in /tmp.  From a cursory inspection of
the perl script, it doesn't seem to explicitly remove the files.  

In case it's relevant, the mode of my /tmp directory is:

drwxrwxrwx  7 root        11912 Feb 17 18:32 /tmp

and it's mounted like this:

swap on /tmp type tmp (rw)

I'm using SunOS 4.1.3 on a SPARCserver 10/60.

Any ideas?
