IMHO, no. this is not a sendmail problem, at least as Eric
Allman has programmed sendmail. any modifications made by hardware
vendors like sun, hp, .... well all bets are off.
i run the FreeBSD mailing lists using Eric Allman's sendmail and
majordomo. hundreds if not thousands of users spread over 20 odd lists.
if the behaviour described above was correct--we would never get a
message out to the list. too many machines out there incorrectly setup
or temporarily off-line or newly deleted user accounts or.....you name it.
