Subject: name only subscriptions

I heartily apologize if this info is covered in a FAQ or elsewhere, but I
have not yet been able to find it. I run four other majordomo lists, and
have never encountered this problem...

On my four, relatively new lists at best.com, I routinely get people
subscribing by adding thier "firstname lastname" after the sub request (as
one does for LISTSERV), so that every day I have to unsub about 5-10
"names" only (ie, their name gets subscribed but NOT their email address).
When someone does this on my other lists, the request comes to me needing
approval, so I have access to their email addresses, but with these four
lists, all I can do is unsubscribe the name and hope the person will try
again without putting their name in the request (or by adding their email
to the request).

My question: is there a way to either force those subscribe requests to
come to me for approval (without making it a closed list), OR to cause them
to bounce back to the sender as an error message?? I'm fairly certain that
Best is using majordomo 1.92 (maybe 1.93), whereas my other lists were at
netcom, which is still using 1.6x.

Any advice would be appreciated.
