I had the *exact* same problem. W_UID and W_GID must be set to ROOT and
MAJORDOMO, respectively, before you compile WRAPPER. If W_UID is set to
Majordomo, you will have the problem you described.
After you re-compile and re-install WRAPPER, the test is to send a HELP
request to Majordomo - the response should come from MajorDomo-owner, not
from MajorDomo itself.
The problem you described can be a blessing in disguise - your mailbox
doesn't fill up with undeliverable messages. The down side, or course, is
that you never find out that mail is bouncing, and users should be dumped
from the list.
