I had a similar problem which I fixed as follows (I think this is in the
docs somewhere, but I forgot to do it when I installed majordomo):
add "majordomo" to the trusted user list in sendmail using the T
command (I'm running sendmail 4.1 as part of SunOS 4.1.3). This
tells sendmail that majordomo can be trusted when it says that
a message is from "whoever" (using the -f switch).
Right away, the fields adjusted themselves, and bounces now get
sent to Majordomo-owner.
