In fact, the same thing happened to the hotflash mailing list this
week.  In our case, it appears to have taken a few days - mail to
the list went out on the 8th, bounced around mail.lth.se until the
11th, and then managed to come back to pollute much of the list.
I've appended the message (more or less) as is appeared to me at my 
WELL account.  It looks like an ill-formed bounce, that neglected to
insert an important blank line, but I'm sure there are others on this
list who will be able to analyze it with more certainty.
