I have 3 problems with Majordomo. I operate a mailing list (FUNGUS) and
have these problems arise. My sysop tells me that she doesn't know how to
fix them or they are not fixable. Please help her and I.
They are using the current software version, as of January 1995
(My config file follows the questions).
(a) Beginning this week, people have been sending messages to
fungus-outgoing@ and the messages are being forwarded to all subscribers,
although this list is moderatored. How can I stop this action? Now it is
embarrassing. Soon it could become an extreme problem.
(b) When I send a message to fungus@, the subject line is deleted upon
final emailing to subscribers (after being approved by me). Instead,
this is an example of what shows:
From: owner-fungus@teleport.com <owner-fungus@teleport.com>
Received: (from daemon@localhost) by desiree.teleport.com (8.6.10/8.6.9) id WAA28414 for fungus-outgoing; Sat, 15 Apr 1995 22:02:05 -0700
Date: Sat, 15 Apr 1995 22:02:05 -0700
Subject:
FUNGUS (April 16-22, 1995)
Sender: owner-fungus@teleport.COM
Precedence: bulk
How can Subject lines be functionable?
C. 2 months ago, some system glitch caused the whole record of subscribers
to erase. In order to re-install the 240+ subscribers, I had to manually
re-approve all subscribers. Is there an easier way of doing this?
Let me thank you in advance for any assistance!
Regards,
Ralph Arnold, rarnold@teleport.com
