| Subject: Please help with 3 questions!!
|
| I have 3 problems with Majordomo. I operate a mailing list (FUNGUS) and
| have these problems arise. My sysop tells me that she doesn't know how to
| fix them or they are not fixable. Please help her and I.
| They are using the current software version, as of January 1995
| (My config file follows the questions).
|
| (a) Beginning this week, people have been sending messages to
| fungus-outgoing@ and the messages are being forwarded to all subscribers,
| although this list is moderatored. How can I stop this action? Now it is
| embarrassing. Soon it could become an extreme problem.
1) Rename the outgoing list alias to something obscure.
2) Change the list alias line to use a .resend file instead of
specifying the options in the alias.
3) Add nobody as a recipient besides the outgoing alias. Nobody being
an alias for /dev/null.
Here's how I've defined the two required items on my system:
ctp-list: "| /usr/local/majordomo-1.93/wrapper resend
@/usr/local/majordomo-1.93/mail/lists/ctp-list.resend"
===== begin: /usr/local/majordomo-1.93/mail/lists/ctp-list.resend =====
-l ctp-list -h av2.vrx.vhi.com -f ctp-list-owner ctp-list-expand,nobody
===== end : /usr/local/majordomo-1.93/mail/lists/ctp-list.resend =====
Adding "nobody" keeps the outgoing alias from being added to the
Received header line.
Sorry I can't help you on the second item, our internal lists don't need
to be moderated.
