Yes.  I'm doing it.

Try using one of the pre-compiled copies of SMail that comes with the
big distributions like SlackWare and Yggdrasil.  The files Vince
Skahan put together are an excellent starting place, with little or
no tweaking needed.

If you turn on the "strip" option on your lists, SMail is a
completely invisible substitute for sendmail as far as Majordomo is
concerned.
