This may be a very inefficient solution, but, if your lists
are named

desk
chair
shelf

do as follows:

cat desk chair shelf > cumulative
sort -u cumulative > total

The list "total" is the union of all three sublists such that
no address appears twice in it.  Then send your message to the
list "total" (which will, of course, require always having
a sport for it in your /etc/aliases file).  Best, elena
