The docs don't help, so don't waste your time look there like I did.

I am in the same situation, and the way I do it is this way:

IN THE LIST'S CONFIGURATION FILE:

Set the list to moderated.

Set the approve_passwd to your desired password, such as "lipstick"

Then, advise those who want to post that they must post in a particular way.  This is what works for me:

TO: listname
FIRST LINE OF MESSAGE:  Approved:lipstick
SECOND LINE OF MESSAGE: Subject:kissme
THIRD LINE OF MESSAGE:  Begin message.

Let me know how it works, as I don't have a whole lot of experience with it, but my tests and postings to date indicate it works.
