Do you mean use the listname file for the restrict_post area of the 
listname.config file?  Just having listname in the $listdir does not 
prevent non-subscribers from posting - no on my machine anyway.  In fact, 
I have "restrict_post=listname" in my listname.config file and still 
cannot prevent non-subscribers from posting...
