This is how I did it. No guarantees that it's the best way :-)
Simplistically, you need to create another list, called xxxxx-digest. People will
subscribe to it just like to your current list xxxxx. There are some things that
need to be tweaked, however:
1. In the aliases file, the xxxxx alias which pipes mail to the resend program
needs to have the xxxxx-digest file added to the -I parameter in the arguments
to resend. So you have:
xxxxx: /MDHOME/wrapper resend -l xxxxx -I xxxxx:xxxxx-digest xxxxx-outgoing
This allows users in the digest list to post to the list in general.
2. Create an alias for xxxxx-digest: xxxxx
This sends any mail that people might send to the digest list to the list in
general.
3. Your cron entry that sends the digest out will of course send only to the
folks in the xxxxx-digest file.
