Dear Guru's,
Recently I decided to set up a Mailing list for my Student-Rugby-Team
on my Linux box. Armed with an article from the May-95 issue of the
Linux Journal this promised to be a piece of cake. However more
frustrating that I cannot get the thing to work!
I obtained the most recent Majordomo (1.99p), my Linux box is a
fairly standard Slackware 2.1 installation (yes, with Perl).
I did my best combining the README, Faq and LJ information and
installed the thing.
Sending a request for subscription to my Majordomo results in a
mailer daemon message like:
----- The following addresses had delivery problems -----
"|/usr/lib/majordomo/wrapper majordomo" (unrecoverable error)
(expanded from: <majordomo>)
----- Transcript of session follows -----
Message delivered to mailing list <majordomo>
eval of majordomo.cf failed at /usr/lib/majordomo/majordomo line 46.
554 "|/usr/lib/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"... unknown mailer error 29
I suspect that this has to do with the problems I encounter when
compiling the thing.
Make install-wrapper results in:
cc -DBIN=\"/usr/lib/majordomo\" -DPATH=\"PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/ucb\"
-DHOME=\"
HOME=/usr/lib/majordomo\" -DSHELL=\"SHELL=/bin/csh\"
-DMAJORDOMO_CF=\"MAJORDOMO_
CF=/usr/lib/majordomo/majordomo.cf\" -DPOSIX_UID=54 -DPOSIX_GID=54
-DSETGROUP -o
wrapper wrapper.c
wrapper.c: In function `main':
wrapper.c:65: warning: comparison between pointer and integer
wrapper.c:99: warning: initialization makes integer from pointer without a
cast
cp wrapper /usr/lib/majordomo/wrapper
cp: `wrapper' and `/usr/lib/majordomo/wrapper' are the same file
make: *** [install-wrapper] Error 1
To me this is a mystery, I would be extremely grateful if anyone could
provide any hints and tips which might help me to get this beast under
control.
