Mark, thanks for your reply.  E-mail seems to work for normal users;
I've been able to send successfully from my user login (uid=1000,
gid=20) using the VM package within Emacs; however, I'm a member of
wheel as well.  I don't know if send mail runs using my euid or my own
uid.  I'll try using /bin/mail to send the e-mail, and I'll try taking
myself out of wheel to see if it helps.

As for Majordomo sending e-mail, it can send to other users, as long
as they're local.  In this case, it seems that sendmail gets called
correctly.  The minute Majordomo e-mail needs to leave my machine via
UUCP, sendmail fails to create a UUCP job for it.  If I send a message
from my login using VM, however, the mail makes it out and eventually
gets delivered.
