I thought that if administrivia=yes bounced messages were trapped.  Am I 
mistaken about that?

If only I could make everyone use it :)  Interestingly, Netscape 2 also defeats 
the reply-to.  When reply_to is set to the list, Netscape 2 replies to the list 
regardless of whether I choose reply or reply-all, making it extremely difficult 
to reply to the sender and not the list.
