Similarly, I am a first-time list owner/mediator. Are there any guides of
advice on list-operation? Do any of the on-line or printed
Internet Guides have good sections on opperating a list? I am
already on the majordomo-users (and owners) list. But I am just
wondering if any experienced list owners have written down their
experiences or general principles in the mechanics of running
lists. For example, do you drop bad addresses after 3 days of
boucing, a week or only 2 bounces? Or for example, is it good
practice to put headers or footers in messages with sub/unsub
addresses? How often do you send around a general information
posting describing how to sub/unsub?
Similarly, are there any compiled recommendations on how to
mediate a list and encourage topics/discussions/etc, especially
when the list is new?
Maybe lastly, do list-owners hang
out on any particular newsgroups/lists/web sites?
Thanks in advance!
/Michael
