Maybe, but I suspect not. Regardless, you should get Berkeley v8
sendmail (8.7.5), along with Berkeley BIND for your nameserver, on
general principle. Even if that does not fix the problem you will be
much happier with the modern implementations.
Anyway, read the Majordomo FAQ. Most probably your problems are
addressed therein.
