Richard,
I had a very similar problem. Several mailing lists, all of which were
sending duplicate messages around a day after the original was sent. For
some reason majordomo didn't think it had sent out the originals and kept
resending them every day (I checked by using /usr/lib/sendmail -bp to see
who it thought it still needed to send messages to. All of the sent
messages were still in the queue with the whole list of subscribers to be
sent too).
I made two changes:
1. I completely deleted the message queue
2. I added information on the bulk priority to the sendmail.cf file
(previously not defined)
I'm not sure which of these fixed the problem, but one of them did.
