Someone subscribed and typed in <your email address> instead of
replacing that phrase with an actual email address. The system
cheerfully accepted it, added <your email address> to the list
of subscribers then attempted to send a welcome msg which of
course was returned as undeliverable.

No amount of me sending unsubscribe msgs to majordomo worked
- just kept getting '<your email address>' not a member of list.
I tried with and without quotes.

1. Where is the administrivia stuff being checked? Is it only
for posts to the lists. Is there any place that does a sanity
check on cmds sent to majordomo so that this type of a subscribe
request would not go through?

2. Is the only way to remove that entry now to actually edit the
file that contains the subscriber list?

(I've read the FAQ but didn't find an answer to this question)

Thanks,
Beth
