I got the same message when I first installed Majordomo on my Linux box.

I also have a Pentium 150 with 34 Mb RAM. The problem is that the
permissions are not compiled correctly in the wrapper. Look at the user
id and group id for the user majordomo and make sure those are set
correctly in the configuration file for majordomo installation. I
thought I had done mine correclty the first time but apparently I had
not. I redid this and now it seems to work. I assume some magic is
involved because alot of people seem to have this problem, especially
with Linux and Solaris.

I still have the problem that the config file for each list is owned by
bin. For Linux at least, it seems that when root launches the wrapper
script, bin takes over and creates alot of the files. Is this normal?

I don't have time to mess with it so I just have a cron file that changes
the owner and group for all of the list files to majordom.majordom.
Surely there is a better way of doing this. I did fix my archive file
problem by adding the umask(022) entry for the majordomo.cf file.

Any hints from successful Linux users (without having to use the
work-arounds?)

Thanks,

Keith
