Subject: majordomo and nslookup timeout error

I have majordomo 1.93 running on Linux 1.2.13 and I'm very happy with
it but for one thing:

When my (primary and secondary) name-servers are down, sendmail will queue
the messages sent by majordomo for later delivery. Majordomo however
seems to interpret the return status as an error and sends the mail
again causing an additional copy to be put on the queue. You can
imagine that the mail queue grows rapidly and the system is soon very
busy sending the same massages over and over again!

I'm not sure whether this only happens when I have name-server problems
or, whether this is more general when there are network
errors. (sendmail gets stuck with a nslookup timeout, and nslookup
will also timeout if the box is physically disconnected from the
network.)

What is the fix: should sendmail not queue messages, don't think. Most
likely majordomo should communicate better with sendmail here. Does
someone have the fix for that already?
