noadvertise doesn't work

Majordomo is working fine for me, EXCEPT that I can't seem to hide certain
lists from the "lists" command.  In the .config files of those lists, I have

noadvertise << END
/.*/
END

as in the MD manual.  Those lists are shown anyway with the 'lists' request.

My system:

Sun SparcStation with SunOS 4.1.2, perl 5.002, MD 1.93

How can I stop a list from being shown to ANYONE with the 'lists' command?
