Hi Everyone.

I've been lurking on this list for a while, mostly because I don't have the
technical background most of you have.

I moderate a small but growing list and haven't been able to get much help
from the technical support people at Europa, which owns the server that
runs Majordomo.

Failed mail messages, like the following are an endless source of irritation:

>From: <MAILER-DAEMON@europa.com>
>To: owner-TPM-L-digest-outgoing
>Cc: postmaster
>Subject: mail failed, sending to address owner
>Reference: <m0uWSoY-000EmQa@europa.com>

What's particularly irritating is that 4 among the 9 "unknown users" are
quite well known to me. They are colleagues at remote locations, and it's
really important that they receive the digest.

My understanding is that there isn't much I can do on my end to find out
why these people aren't receiving the digest--that they have to take the
initiative to contact their Internet providers to try to correct whatever
problem is preventing them from receiving it. Is this a correct assumption?

Would some kind soul out there be willing to explain to me in language I
can understand some of the main reasons for failed mail. :-(

Thanks.
