still can't create digest

Thanks to those who sent suggestions on my digest problem.

I've checked all permissions and aliases, over and over.
Messages to the regular list are being stored in the digest
directory, so it's partially correct. But "digest" fails with the
error message "no  files to process". What else could be wrong?
