Subject: Synchronizing a Newsgroup and Mail list - Can it be done?

I would like to have a bi-directionl link between our NNTP server and our
Majordomo. For example, when people send e-mail to the maillist, it would
be posted in the corresponding newsgroup. If people replied, or posted in
the newsgroup, it would be mailed to the corresponding majordomo list.

I understand there could be a problem keeping loops from occuring. I
suspect this could be solved with filters looking at the original source,
redirector, or server path of the message (mail or news) in the header and
only cross-forwarding messages that haven't already been replicated.

Any ideas? We've got a newsgroup subscribed to and posting everything from a
maillist already, but if people reply to the newsgroup, it never reaches
the list.

I'd be shocked if someone hadn't done this already or have a commercial
product to handle it. Any information or suggestions would be helpful.

TIA,
--John
