Exactly, and that is why the argument probably won't be resolved. If the
list exists as an agent of the list owner, then it should be up to
him to decide if the nature of the list should be to promote
open discussion by making the default reply the list address or
to encourage private responses. People with mailers that are aware
of multiple addresses often use a 'reply to all' function when responding
to mailing list messages anyway, but many recipients go through lan
gateways to less capable mailers.
