Sure. Edit the <listname>-digest.config file and make the max.
number of lines to create a digest very small, like 5... the first
test message you send will force a digest creation. You can also send
a message to majordomo@host that will force a digest.. I don't know
why you said you found out the "hard way" doing a mkdigest is not a
good idea?
