Subject: Problem with digest distribution

Hi.

I manage a majordomo listserv for a group of about 300 journalists. I've been having a problem with the digest version of this list, and I was hoping someone on this listserv could help, or point me toward useful resources.

With my listserv I had been offering subscribers two options: the main listserv (individual e-mail messages) and the digest. About 15 subscribers opted for the digest version. This list is supported by my internet service proivder, a small commercial company, and they set this digest function up for me several months ago.

Apparently, the digest worked well at first. Then, somewhere along the line, digest subscribers stopped receiving the digest - even though they were still subscribed to the digest (I verified this by sending a "who" command for the digest). Eventually, it turned out that no one on the digest list was in fact getting the digest -- except me. And I continued to get it every time, on time. Weird.

However, no one on the digest list complained to me about not getting their digest. And since I continued to get the digest regularly, I didn't know there was a problem -- until recently. I discovered this problem when someone who was already subscribed to the digest tried to subscribe again -- when I asked her about that, I found out she hadn't been getting her digests.

My ISP has been through his mail logs. They show the digests being generated and mailed out to everyone on the list. However, I've checked with all digest subscribers and with their postmasters - there is no record anywhere of these messages after they leave my ISP.

A little more background, if it helps:
* Both the main listserv and the digest are closed, but unmoderated
* These digests are archived, and the archives are accessible only to listserv or digest subscribers

I'm at a loss. For the time being, I've let my subscribers know the digest is nonfunctional. However, I would like to be able to offer this option again. Does anyone have any idea about what may be wrong & how I or my ISP could fix it? Or are there any resources I should consult that may help?

Please respond to me by private e-mail, to avoid cluttering the list

Thanks
