I am running a list using majordomo, with the following alias set up to do
automatic archiving of list messages using the "MHonArc" package:
meteorobs-outgoing :include:/home/majordomo/lists/meteorobs,
"| /home/majordomo/bin/wrapper digest -r -C -l meteorobs-digest
meteorobs-digest-outgoing", "| /home/majordomo/bin/wrapper
archive2.pl -a -m -f
/home/majordomo/archive/meteorobs/meteorobs.archive",
meteorobs-mhonarc
And then:
meteorobs-mhonarc "|/home/majordomo/mhonarc/mhonarc -add -quiet
-outdir /home/majordomo/mhonarc/meteorobs"
The problem I have is when subscribers send messages using their mailers'
"burst" or "batch" modes: two or more messages arrive at my server in quick
succession, and the second one seems to interrupt the processing of the first,
resulting in the following error message being mailed to me:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subject: Returned mail: unknown mailer error 13
To: owner-meteorobs-outgoing
----- Transcript of session follows -----
ERROR: Unable to create /home/majordomo/mhonarc/meteorobs/.mhonarc.lck after 10
tries
554 "|/home/majordomo/mhonarc/mhonarc -add -quiet -outdir
/home/majordomo/mhonarc/meteorobs"... unknown mailer error 13
Receiving 11
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My question (and this is more of a MHonArc question, but I thought other
majordomo mavens may have encountered it): How can I fix this?? I.e., how can I
obviate the need for the ".mhonarck.lck" locking, or better yet, simply increase
the number of retries that majordomo does, up to some fairly large number?
Thanks in advance,
Lew Gramer
