Who knows? You didn't tell us what mailer you use, nor did you tell us
what the "attachment" looks like.

Majordomo does not touch the message, except to:
Add headers and footers.
Look for administrivia and taboo matches.
It doesn't modify the message at all, except to add the headers and
footers.
If you want, set up archiving and see what majordomo is seeing then compare
that with what you're seeing. Your mailer is probably insisting on fudging
with the message somehow; mailers that do this are generally regarded as
broken.
