Just a follow-up to my posting, I forgot to give the versions. The
following problem was with MJ 1.93 and perl 4.036. In exasperation I
installed the version of 1.94b9 and now it works (perl 5.003 by the
way). So the problem is clearly not with the sendmail aliases or
anything else external to MJ.

So the mystery is, why did resend suddenly decide not to process the
same options that it processed only a few minutes before? I suspect a
wrapper problem, but that is only a guess.

Speaking of which, here is an item for any 1.94 developers out there --
the Makefile says that IRIX 4 is NOT POSIX, but it is. When I tried to
compile wrapper.c under IRIX 4.0.5 with the native C compiler it
compiled fine, but then I got a message from MAILER-DAEMON that I had to
recompile with POSIX. I did that and so far so good.
