Hi there
I want to run parallel MODERATED and UNMODERATED mailing lists.
I would *like* it for subscribers to be able to post to either address for
the message to be propagated.
All postings should go to the UNMODERATED list immediately [no need for re-send]
The SAME posting [regardless of what address was actually used] should be sent
to the MODERATED list, which if the moderator approves would send it along to
THE MODERATED LIST ONLY [otherwise the unmoderated list would get two copies
of each approved posting]
Is there a way to set up mail aliases to do this?
I haven't been able to think of a way, due to the nature of re-send in that it
causes mail to be sent to an alias TWICE.
In that case I have decided to get rid of the option where people can use
MODERATED *or* the UNMODERATED list address and only let them use the
UNMODERATED list address. Then when messages are approved the moderators have
to be careful to only send to the MODERATED list address. This seems to work.
For example [this is a stylized version of my /etc/aliases]
UNMODERATED: unmoderated-outgoing, moderated-outgoing
unmoderated-outgoing: :include:outgoing-list
moderated-outgoing: resend -l moderated moderated-list
moderated: moderated-outgoing
moderated-list: include:moderated-subscribers
Is there a way to get Majordomo to give me the behavior that I WANT instead
of the behavior that I settled for?
Schematic:
unmoderated -> moderated -> moderated-subscribers (when approved)
-> unmoderated-subscribers (always)
[I'm runing Majordomo 1.92 on a Sparc20 running SunOS 4.1.3]
