After installing majordomo 1.93 on a linux box with Perl 5.003, messages go
out to the test list I've set up just fine.
However, whenever I send an admin message to majordomo, i.e., 'subscribe',
or 'info', majordomo then starts up and runs away, eating up 95% of memory
and processor time, bringing the machine to it's knees.
If I kill the process, it restarts on its own after several minutes, and
immediately runs away again. This repeats 3-4 times, then finally
responds to the info or subcribe message--with a blank response.
I've checked:
* permissions--all set up as specified in the README
* compiling of the 'wrapper' program--The Makefile said to go non posix
for linux, but when I did, I got an error message in response to test
messages I sent: 'unknown mailer--recompile with posix options'.
* obvious errors in the perl scripts--they appear to be fine except for
the perl paths, which I adjusted after installation to point to the right
place.
I got no error messages when compiling the wrapper, and the install
script worked without incident.
Ideas anyone? Thanks in advance...
