If I recall correctly this is because majordomo isn't a "trusted" user
to sendmail. See the sendmail.cf file.

How do you do that? I think you meant the replyto list configuration
variable. Watch out for mail loops from badly configured/brain dead mail
installations if you do that, however. I, personally, *hate* mailing
lists that force replies to the list. If I want to copy the list, I'll
use "Group Reply" (aka "Reply All"). All too often, drain bamaged
mailers flat lose the sender's address when replies are forced to the
list. If the replyee can't get it right to copy the list, you probably
didn't want to hear from him anyway. ;-)
