Another option, what I do for remote users who really need 'full' access
to the filesystem without giving them shell accounts is set up an 'FTP
only' account. The directories they need access to are their home
directories, and I fiddle with groups and group permissions to give them
r/w access to just their files. This is a lot saner than trying to use
mail gateways and the rather crude and easilly spoofable methods of
authentication they use.
