For what it's worth I have the exact same problem (running many lists, all
set with

  noadvertise << END
  /.*/
  END

but with one list still showing up on the LISTS command output when issued by
a nonmember).  I'm emailing in my config files with the NEWCONFIG command and
would love to hear why you think it's relevant. :-)
